Frequently Asked Questions
Fees and Payment
Fees are determined by length of sessions and payment is due at the time of service. All session fees are discussed during your phone consultation and communicated prior to any scheduled appointments.
We accept cash or credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, or FSA/HSA cards).
Insurance
We do not take insurance but encourage you to reach out to your insurance provider to see if they offer full or partial reimbursement for benefits outside-of-network. If so, we can provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.
We accept FSA/HSA cards to pay for services.
Policies
48 hours prior to your session, we send both an email and text notification allowing you to make adjustments to your appointment. We require a 24-hour changed or cancellation notification. Notifications outside of that window result in a full-session charge, except in the case of emergencies.
We are not able to complete paperwork related to ESA or FMLA, but are happy to make referrals for your needs.
Virtual Therapy
We provide telehealth therapy for all Arizona-based clients located outside of the Greater Phoenix Region or who have schedules that do not allow for consistent in-person sessions. Virtual therapy requires that you have a private and safe space. If you have any questions, please ask during your initial phone consultation to see if virtual therapy and your treatment goals are a good fit.
EMDR
EMDR is an evidence-based treatment of therapy that addresses negative self-beliefs, emotions, and bodily sensations across a spectrum of distress levels. What sets EMDR apart is its incorporation of bilateral stimulation, such as moving eyes from left to right, tapping, or auditory cues, to facilitate information integration between the brain’s hemispheres.
Emotionally-Focused Therapy
EFT is a well-known humanistic approach to psychotherapy developed in tandem with the science of adult attachment, a profound developmental theory of personality and intimate relationships. Attachment views human beings as innately relational, social and wired for intimate bonding with others. The EFT model prioritizes emotion and emotional regulation as the key organizing agents in individual experience and key relationship interactions.
Client-Centered
Client-centered care means we want to customize our treatment to your particular state in life, goals, and resources. Therapy requires a personal and financial investment, and we operate with full transparency as to what we do and why we do. Client care is our top priority and our ethical guidepost is ensuring that you have the best support available to you. Sometimes, this means we partner with you to find a better suited provider for your treatment goals, location, and resources. Whatever the case, we can customize length of sessions and type of treatment to work for you and to meet you exactly where you are.
Good Faith Estimate
Effective January 1, 2022 under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, a ruling went into effect called the No Surprises Act to provide you with a Good Faith Estimate detailing out-of-network care. Prior to your first session, we will provide your fee for service and work collaboratively with you in developing a treatment plan and ongoing costs of care. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to ask during your phone consultation.
